The picturesque corner of the Czech Republic known as The Czech Paradise lies only 1 hour drive north of Prague. Although little visited by foreign tourists it is dotted with medieval castles, chateaus and unspoilt nature. On this full day tour you will visit all the highlights of this stunning area and move truly off the tourist track. Your guide will pick you up at the start of your hotel and then drive you to the 1000 year old town of Detenice. First we will visit the town’s baroque 17th century chateau with its immense chandeliers, period furniture and attractive late baroque park - it is truly one of the hidden treasures of the region. Around lunch time, your guide will take you to the most famous medieval pub in the Czech Republic. You will be able to choose from many traditional dishes, mainly featuring grilled meat, and try some of the delicious local beers. Don’t be surprised if the waiters speak to you in a very rude way, remember that you are not longer in the 21st century but back in the middle ages. After lunch we will continue our tour of the medieval ages with a visit to the 14th century Kost (Bone) Castle, one of the best preserved fortresses in the country with a fine exhibition of Renaissance and Gothic weapons, furniture and other equipment. You will also have a nice walk around the castle just before you drive back to Prague.
